#Becoming a Member

Who can Join

To become a member of Alta Vista, you simply need to meet one of the following eligibility requirements:

  • Live, regularly work or worship in the Counties of San Bernardino or Riverside.
  • Be associated with the former Norton Air Force Base (retiree, civil service, Department of Defense, etc.) or any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces or Reserves
  • Be employed at one of our many Select Employer Groups (SEGs)
  • Be an immediate family member or relative of a current member or person eligible for membership.

How Do I Join

If you qualify for membership, you can email the credit union, and request that a membership application be sent to you. You must maintain a Regular Savings Account with a minimum balance of $25.00, which represents your "share" as a member-owner in the credit union.

What Do I need to Join

In order to join, you will be required to provide the following.

  • A valid state Driver's License, Identification Card or Passport
  • Social Security Number
  • Proof of Address (Utility Bill, Driver's license)
  • We will run a credit report as part of the verification process.
  • $30 dollars
    • $25 refundable deposit in a Primary Share Account (every member has a share account)
    • $5 non-refundable membership fee

Helpful Tips

  • You may print and complete the Membership Application ahead of time if you wish.
  • Bring existing loan information in order to refinance your loan with Alta Vista.
  • Bring credit card information for an easy balance transfer to an Alta Vista VISA.
  • Supply us with any existing checking account information such as any ACH or electronic withdrawals so we can help you make a smooth transition to your new Alta VistaChecking Account.
